You know, Executive Search is really about bringing the right people in. On the consulting side, it's really about bringing the people up.
DE&I isn’t just the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do.
You're competing against companies from all over the planet. You're competing with startups that have come out of nowhere. How are you going to make sure you're designing products for women, or for African-American, or Latino, or Asian, or gay, or people with disabilities, people with different styles, different ages, if you yourself do not reflect that?
How are you going to see what people need, want, desire, or aspire for?
How are you going to see what they need, want, desire, aspire for? From a very human perspective, people feel not seen and not valued for the very thing that makes them unique, and therefore, they don't feel they belong.
How can we possibly innovate if we’re not curious and exploratory in leveraging that diversity?
And number two, from a commercial perspective, how can we possibly innovate if we're not curious and exploratory, and leveraging that diversity and just treating everybody as if they operate and think and see the world the same?
So, let's learn how to, and let's be proactive in leveraging the differences by surfacing them and not being afraid to see what happens when we do.
