LOS ANGELES, Nov. 14, 2018 — With Amazon’s announcement to locate its HQ2 locations in Queens, New York and Northern Virginia, a new analysis by Korn Ferry (NYSE: KFY) reveals how much, on average, people make in those cities. The pay analysis also includes Seattle, the location of the company’s original headquarters, as well as Nashville, the location of its newly announced operational center of excellence.

The analysis is based on Korn Ferry’s U.S. pay database, which represents compensation practices for more than 2,300 companies and more than 5.9 million employees.

Researchers analyzed average salaries by entry-level, mid-level and senior-level employees in each city/region.

“Several factors feed into average salaries, such as geographic location, cost of living and availability of qualified talent,” said Bob Wesselkamper, Global Head of Korn Ferry Rewards and Benefits Solution. “However, Amazon’s expansion will create a talent ripple in these chosen cities. It is certain the war for talent will be fierce, and the economy in these markets will get a boost.”
