Masaki Nakajima brings an integrated perspective on strategy, organization, and talent to help solve complex management challenges. As the leader of Korn Ferry’s Board & CEO Services in Japan, he advises organizations on board effectiveness and CEO succession.
A recognized expert in corporate and business strategy, organizational management, human capital strategy, corporate culture, and enterprise-wide transformation, Mr. Nakajima specializes in enhancing board effectiveness to strengthen his clients' global competitiveness. He supports boards in successfully implementing CEO and board succession strategies and provides executive coaching for new CEOs.
He has authored key articles on leadership and organizational management and has translated influential books into Japanese, including Talent Strategy Risk (2021, Harvard Business School Press), Talent Wins (2018, Harvard Business School Press), and The War for Talent (2001, Harvard Business School Press).
Before joining Korn Ferry, Mr. Nakajima was a Partner and Board Member at a leading global consulting firm. He also held leadership roles at a top global strategy firm and a global HR consulting firm, where he led Japan’s Human Capital Business and the Leadership & Organization Performance Consulting practice across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.
In addition to his corporate work, Mr. Nakajima is a Visiting Professor at the Kenichi Ohmae Graduate School of Business, where he teaches Corporate Governance, and a part-time lecturer at the University of Tokyo’s Graduate School of Engineering. He also serves on the Advisory Board of FC Imabari.
Mr. Nakajima holds an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management and a Bachelor of Commerce from Hitotsubashi University.
