Mr. Barnes brings to the Firm more than two decades of relevant experience in search and the consumer industry. 

Mr. Barnes focuses on the recruitment of senior-level executives across a wide variety of functions within consumer goods and services, with an emphasis on marketing, sales and general management.

Mr. Barnes is committed to closely partnering with clients to address their needs, and has conducted more than 250 engagements, working with a diverse group of consumer-oriented companies, from start-up to Fortune 500, across a broad spectrum of consumer categories. His expertise extends into food & beverage, household products, health & beauty, OTC, consumer electronics, outdoor/lifestyle and durables.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry in 2001, Mr. Barnes worked for two other international executive search firms. Before entering the executive search profession, Mr. Barnes worked in brand management at Johnson & Johnson, and in advertising account management at Leo Burnett. Early in his career, he worked as a boarding school teacher and coach at Choate Rosemary Hall.

Mr. Barnes is a member of Bowdoin's Alumni Interviewing Committee, an appointee to the Lawrenceville School's Annual Fund Executive Committee and an active club lacrosse player.

He holds a master's of business administration from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a bachelor's degree from Bowdoin College.
