Torrey Foster is Vice Chairman in Korn Ferry’s Consumer, CEO and Board practices and serves as Managing Partner for the Consumer Markets Practice in North America.
Torrey brings 25 years of executive search and leadership advisory experience to his client base, leading senior level executive search and leadership succession engagements, principally at the CEO, Board, and President level. He is known for his consultative engagement with clients as demonstrated through countless long-term client relationships.
Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Torrey was with another global firm where he served in a variety of leadership roles including Americas Region Leader, Global Consumer Markets Practice Leader, Global Consumer Products Sector Leader, Managing Partner US central region, and Managing Partner of the Chicago office. He has also led numerous global account relationships with organizations in the Fortune 500, mid-cap, family owned, and private equity portfolio company arenas. He began his career with The Quaker Oats Company in Chicago.
Torrey has served clients in a variety of consumer sectors including FMCG, branded durables, beverage alcohol, retail, grocery, e-commerce, travel, leisure, hospitality, restaurants as well as distribution and building materials. He is viewed as an authority on leadership, succession, recruitment, and top team effectiveness. He has authored a number of white papers on these subjects and has appeared in the Wall Street Journal, Fortune, CNBC, Crain’s and Chicago Tribune.
Torrey has also served with numerous civic, church, and philanthropic organizations including Illinois Elementary School District 181 Foundation Board, the Episcopal Church, the General Alumni/Alumnae Association of Phillips Exeter Academy, Children’s Home & Aid Society of Illinois, and Indian Guides and Princesses.
Today, Torrey serves on the National Advisory Board of the Salvation Army and as Chair of its Board Development Committee.
Torrey is a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Brown University and a master’s degree in management from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
