Sophie Fleming is the Total Rewards Practice Leader for Canada, based in the firm’s Toronto office since 2014.
Sophie has a deep expertise in the automotive sector, and provides advisory services to Toyota, Honda, Audi as well as various suppliers. She has deep knowledge of mobility future, sales & marketing, R&D, supply chain, regulatory affairs and production within the auto sector.
Sophie leads Transformation, work measurement, pay equity, market surveys and total compensation strategy and design engagements with clients within various sectors including public sector, financial services, technology and consumer products.
Sophie’s consulting style is flexible, tailored and collaborative, with a strong focus on knowledge transfer.
Sophie has led a variety of projects with large global organizations as well as smaller organizations in various industry sectors. Her expertise is sought after by clients in Canada, the United States, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina, Japan and France.
Sophie’s primary expertise resides within work measurement, org design, pay equity, compensation plan design and implementation, total rewards research, executive compensation, and performance management.
Sophie is fully bilingual in French and English, and she has conducted numerous public speaking engagements in both languages.
Sophie graduated in 1992 from Laval University (B.A. Industrial Relations), and in 1995 from University of Montreal (M.Sc. Management - Human Resources). She received the Certified Compensation Professional designation in 1997.
She started her career in 1995 with Watson Wyatt Worldwide in Vancouver, later with Hay Group in Los Angeles, and more recently with McDowall Associates in Toronto.
She also held the positions of Senior Manager, Compensation & Benefits at HSBC Bank Canada, and Professor in the faculties of business and engineering at Georgian College.
