Darren

Houghton

Managing Consultant, Agribusiness, EMEA

Darren is a member of the Professional Search Team, and he takes responsibility for senior level searches in agribusiness, agri-tech and the wider food supply chain across EMEA. He is particularly focused on supporting businesses through sales-growth, succession and transformation challenges.

Darren is a trained Executive Coach and a specialist in the agrifood sector, and he has led numerous senior level projects across the globe. More specifically he has completed Board-level and non-executive level searches for large corporate businesses, family-owned companies, research institutions and private-equity backed entities. His difference is that he can speak the language of the agrifood industry, and he truly understands the needs of the sector.

Prior to joining Korn Ferry, Darren was a Director and shareholder at a boutique executive search firm focused on the fresh food and farming sectors. As a Leader in the business during its foundational years, Darren built the search capability and established the company as a go-to for several leading global agrifood companies. He built a strong team, too, and in his later years established the company’s footprint in the agri-tech sector.

Darren began his career in financial services, and he led searches across Europe for investment and private equity experts. As a result, Darren offers a unique and global network.

Darren earned his BA (Hons) in History at Edge Hill University followed by his MA in Twentieth Century History from the University of Liverpool. He also holds a Diploma in Executive Coaching from the Oasis School of Human Relations alongside a Certificate in Professional Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Darren is Chair of the Board at GIPSIL, a not-for-profit organisation, which supports young people and their families in the most disadvantaged communities in Leeds and the surrounding areas.
